TheSPIS – Theaters, Sanctuaries, Performance: Interaction and Sustainability

TheSPIS is a Doctoral Network funded by the European Union within Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA).

It aims to enrol 12 doctoral candidates who will do research on theatres as elements of cultural religious and social discourse, underlining their close relationship to sanctuaries and ancient religion. This can be grasped through archaeological evidence, and the interaction of architectural, textual, and iconographic components.

The ambitious research and training programme of TheSPIS offers a unique opportunity to connect present and past societies through various types of academic and non-academic engagement.
