Call for applications for 12 PhD positions Deadline: May 11, 2026

TheSPIS is recruiting 12 Doctoral Candidates in the fields of Cultural Heritage, Classical Archaeology, Classics, Ancient History, Theatre Studies, Historical and Religious Studies.

Each candidate is allowed to apply for one to a maximum of three positions. A short description of the individual research projects is available here.

    • Research proposal(s)
    • Motivation letter
    • Copy of the academic record
    • Two recommendation letters
    • Summary of research and/or work experience relevant to the DN research fields
    • Publications or writing samples
    • Any additional information considered relevant
    • Copy of the Passport or Identity card
